"Quetzalcoatl: Toward a New Decade of Decolonizing Sacred Spaces"
XITO's 7th Annual Summer Institute
June 26-28, 2020
XITO's 7th Annual Summer Institute will focus on Quetzalcoatl, the precious and beautiful knowledge representing stability that comes from our collective knowledge, as we move into a new decade of decolonizing sacred spaces. Recognizing that our ancestors left us a sophisticated humanizing system, we will draw on the ancestral knowledge of Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl to inform a pedagogy of vibrancy and stability.
This 3-day institute, located in Tucson, Arizona, is an opportunity to engage in and learn about the decolonizing and re-humanizing theories and methodologies behind the success of the former Tucson Mexican American Studies Program. This gathering is not a conference but rather an intensive professional development opportunity with applicable, goal-oriented work participants can bring back to their own schools and communities. This institute is appropriate for educators, administrators, community organizers and cultural workers who are committed to decolonizing and re-humanizing education.
**GRADUATE CREDIT** - XITO now offers optional graduate credit through Prescott College for attending our 3-day institutes. Click HERE for more information.
